Lawrence "Larry" N. Lynch, 66, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at his home in Decorah of natural causes. Memorial services are at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Congregational United Church of Christ in Decorah, with Rev. Laura Arnold officiating. Inurnment is in Phelps Cemetery in Decorah. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Monday, one hour before the service, at Congregational United Church of Christ. Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah is serving the family. Pianist is Sophia Huang. Soloist is Karen Esterl. Congregational Choir also sings. Hymns are "Precious Lord," "Amazing Grace" and "I Know that My Redeemer Lives." Inurnment is at Phelps Cemetery in Decorah. Lawrence "Larry" N. Lynch was born Dec. 21, 1946, in Decorah, the son of Thomas C. and Florence (Nelson) Lynch. He was baptized and confirmed at Congregational United Church of Christ. He graduated from Decorah High School with the class of 1965. He received his B.A. degree with a major in speech from Luther College in 1969, and then graduated with a B.S. degree from Arizona State University in 1975. He then became a schoolteacher in Douglas, Ariz. Larry was drafted into the United States Army, served for 2 years and was honorably discharged. For the next 10 years Larry worked as an announcer and sales person for various radio stations in California and Arizona. He then moved to Iowa City and was an announcer and sales person at a local radio station. Larry then moved to Decorah and did sales work for KDEC, then worked through the Spectrum Network in Decorah. Larry had many interests. He enjoyed music, performing in local plays, sports, current events, politics, art, environmental concerns, medicine, law and people. Larry was an avid reader and loved books. He was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ and enjoyed singing in the choir. Larry liked a good meal, family gatherings and holidays.

Larry is survived by his mother, Florence Lynch of Decorah; one brother, Tim (Mary Kay) Lynch of Decorah; one brother-in-law, Larry Letkewicz of Naperville, Ill.; two nephews and two nieces: Patrick Lynch, Christopher Letkewicz, Courtney Letkewicz and Casey (Keegan) Davenport; and by aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom, Dec. 18, 1979; and by his sister, Julie Letkewicz, Feb. 9, 2011.
