Donna Kay Hughes Gross, 63, passed away Jan. 9, 2014, at her home in West Union. Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 12, from 4-7 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado. Memorial services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado, with a visitation one hour before the service.

Donna was born July 18, 1951, in Postville. She was baptized Aug. 8, 1951, at Frankville Community Presbyterian Church in Frankville. Donna confirmed her faith May 11, 1965, at Frankville Presbyterian Church. Donna was a farm wife and an EMT. She worked as a Fayette county dispatch supervisor until she and Reggie retired last year. Donna and Reggie were married May 15, 1993, at Goeken Park in Eldorado. Donna was a wife, mom, step-mom, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Reginald Gross, West Union; five children: Tonia (Eric) Courtney, West Des Moines; Clint (Krissy) Bodensteiner, Castalia; Erik (Tami) Bodensteiner, Castalia; Robert and Amy Gross, Spring Grove, Minn.; and Michael (friend, Tamara) Gross of Denver. She also is survived by her mother, Lilah Hughes, of Postville; brothers, Ronald (Linda) Hughes, Luana; Ricky (Patty) Hughes, Decorah; and a sister, Linda (Bruce) Shoening of Tampa Bay, Fla.; sisters-in-law Jean Gross of Manchester and Sarina (Dennis) Chapman of Ankeny; and a brother-in-law Lee (Roxie) Gross of Alta Vista, Calif. Donna is survived by 12grandchildren: Breanna, Dylan, and Alex Courtney; Brett, Hailey and Brayden Bodesteiner; Tristen and Cody Bodensteiner; Kaitlyn, Adelia, Mya and Madasyn Gross; and one great-grandson, Bentley Scott Courtney.

She was preceded in death by her father, Evart Hughes and her brother in law, Duncan Gross.
