Dale Schluter, 53, of Decorah, died suddenly Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 15, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 West Main Street, Decorah, with Rev. Phillip Gibbs presiding. Burial is in the St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery, Decorah. Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, and also from 9-10 a.m. Monday morning at the Schluter - Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah. Dale is survived by his wife, Karen Schluter, Decorah; two sons, Travis Schluter, West Bend and Mitch Schluter, Decorah; his mother, Margaret Schluter, Mason City; three brothers: Larry and Sharon Schluter, Osage; Myron and Vicki Schluter, Louisburg, Kan.; and Randy and Susan Schluter, Mason City, three sisters: Mary Keck, Huntsville, Ala.; Linda Schluter and friend Bob Strom, Mason City; and Faye Schluter and friend, Mike Tull, Algona; his father- and mother-in-law: Norb and Diane Bohr, Decorah; sisters- and brothers-in-law: Lori Bohr, Minnetonka, Minn.; Dan Bohr, Decorah; Jennifer Charron and fiance' Gorden Sabo, Rapid City, S.D.; Becky and Russell Jones, Huxley; Darin Bohr and fiancé Keri Felke, Decorah; along with many nieces and nephews; three uncles and aunts: Albert and Ruby Schluter, Cresco; Kenny and Dorothy Schluter, Quincy, Ill.; and Jim and Roma Chantrill, Chapin; and Jo Chantrill, The Colony, Texas, along with many cousins and friends. Dale was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Schluter, March 26, 2008; one great-nephew, Liam Markle; two uncles, Clyde Chantrill and Richard (Lu) Chantrill.
