Cyrilla Krivachek, 87, of Fort Atkinson, died Monday, March 31, 2014, at her home. Mass Of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 4, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, with Rev. Nick March officiating. Mass servers were Larry Riha and Dick Nienhaus. Lector was Margaret Riha. Organist was Jeanette Dietzenbach. St. John’s Choir sang “Here I am, Lord,” “Prayer of St. Francis,” “On Eagle’s Wings” and “Let There Be Peace on Earth.” Offertory gift bearers were Liz Brandt and Gina Whalen. Eucharistic ministers were Ann Herold, Carl Schmitt and Margaret Riha. Casket bearers were Shawn Krivachek, Liz Brandt, Aaron Schmitt, Matt Schmitt, Jason Krivachek and Gina Whalen. Interment was at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Fort Atkinson. Arrangements were handled by Schluter – Balik Funeral Home Chekal Chapel, Fort Atkinson.

Cyrilla Madonna (Geling) Krivachek was born March 4, 1927, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Moellers) Geling on the family farm near Ossian. Cyrilla attended rural country school and worked as a nanny in Chicago, Ill. for a few years. She returned and was united in marriage to Edward Krivachek June 21, 1950, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian. They lived in Fort Atkinson, and Cyrilla was a stay at home mother, raising her children. After her children were older, she went to work for Rockwell Collins from 1978-1994. She always was busy cooking, gardening, canning and sewing for her family. At the age of 11, she learned how to quilt and was a major quilter, and always had a quilt on the frame. She was a fierce card player and also enjoyed bingo. She also enjoyed making kolaches for family. Cyrilla was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, the Foresters, the Legion Auxiliary and the Senior Meal Site. She adored her dog, Sandy and will be missed by her family.

Cyrilla is survived by her five children: Donald Krivachek, Fort Atkinson; Kenneth Krivachek, Fort Atkinson; Norine (Dale) Schmitt, Bernard; Mark (Lynn) Krivachek, Decorah; and Marvin Krivachek, Fort Atkinson; six grandchildren: Shawn (Carmen) Krivachek, Liz (Shane) Brandt, Aaron (Acacia) Schmitt, Matt Schmitt, Jason (Allison) Krivachek and Gina (Rusty) Whalen; eight great-grandchildren: Brayden and Brinley Krivachek, Kaden and Kesley Brandt, Aiden Whalen, Blake Krivachek, Logan and Jace Schmitt; one sister, Leona Gerleman, Ossian; two sisters-in-law, and Ida Krivachek, Fort Atkinson and Marcella Geling; along with several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

Cyrilla was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth (Moellers) Geling; her husband, Edward Krivachek, July 7, 1980; one daughter, Karen Krivachek, in 1952; one great-grandson, Ian Krivachek; two sisters, Lucille (Hugo) Heying and Elsie (Clarence) Hageman; one brother, Walter Geling; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Elizabeth “Bessie” Krivachek; two brothers-in-law, Hugo Gerleman and John J. Krivachek; one sister-in-law, Evelyn (Ray) Boyer.
