A Mass of Christian Burial is at Divine Savior Catholic Church in Orangevale, Calif. Friends are invited to an informal gathering to celebrate Carol’s life, to reminisce and visit with Jack Thursday, July 3, from 4-6 p.m., in the multi-purpose room of Eastern Star Assisted Living building in Decorah.

Carol was born May 29, 1958, in Fort Dodge, to John and Lorraine Vohs. Carol grew up in Fort Dodge, where she graduated from St. Edmond High School (1976). She earned a B.S. in chemical engineering from Iowa State University (1980) and continued her education with an M.B.A. from Maryville University (1998).

Carol and Jack met in a math class at Iowa State University and they were married Aug. 25, 1979. Jack and Carol moved to St. Louis, where she worked for Monsanto Enviro-Chem for 20 years. Jack and Carol adopted Carol’s two nephews Scott Johnson (Davis) and Geoffrey Johnson (Davis) in 1991 after their mother, who was Carol’s sister, JoAnne K. Davis’s untimely death. In 2000 Jack and Carol found an opportunity to move to Folsom, Calif., where they resided for the past 14 years. When Carol moved to California she worked for several title companies before being hired by Intel in 2007. For the past seven years she has been a logistics coordinator and business analyst at Intel in Folsom. Carol enjoyed traveling with her husband, Jack -- both here in the states as well as abroad, where they enjoyed good food and good wine. Their travels included trips to many countries in Europe. Carol was a longtime member of the choir at St. Richards Catholic Church in Creve Coeur, Mo. She loved spending her time with family and friends and sharing all that she was able to experience. She loved to laugh with a glass of wine in her hand and good food on her plate. Carol exceeded in everything she tried and gave her all in each of her many accomplishments. She was a very loving person and knew no strangers.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Jack, of 34 years; her sons, Scott (Cape Girardeau, Mo.) and Geoffrey (Bismarck, N.D.). Carol also is survived by her mother, Lorraine Marten (Bill); siblings: Richard Vohs (Teresa), Dianne Dennis, Robert Vohs (Barbara), Thomas Vohs (Janet) and Jay Vohs (Tiffany).  She also is survived by her mother-in-law, Irma Johnson and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Dorsey and Katherine Johnson and brother-in-law, Jim Dorsey. She also is survived by many nieces, nephews and a wide range of friends and colleagues.

Carol is preceded in death by her father, John E. Vohs; and her sister, JoAnne K. Davis.
