Audrejean (Kragness) Myrah, 76, of Spring Grove, Minn., died at home surrounded by her family Sept. 25, 2013. A private family burial was held Saturday, Sept. 28, at Sunset at Trinity Cemetery with a resurrection celebration of life ceremony Tuesday.
She was born Friday, Aug. 13, 1937, to Leonard and Wilma (Kinneberg) Kragness in La Crosse, Wis. Her mother and father farmed on the edge of beautiful Sheldon, Minn., until the tragic accident that killed her father when she was 3 years old. Her mother then moved to Spring Grove with her four children, Lorraine, Leighton, Audrejean and Leonard "Sonny." Her mother later married Luverne Johnson and they had three children, Larry, Dean and Cindy. Audrejean attended Spring Grove Public High School, graduated from Logan High School, La Crosse, and attended Winona State University.
She married Edward G. Myrah, raised seven children and was a "second mother" to her sister, Cindy, and brother, Dean. She has 29 grandchildren (plus four "adopted" grandchildren) and 17 great-grandchildren. She farmed for 30 years with Ed and then joined Farm Bureau Financial Services, out of Des Moines as a career agent in Caledonia for 31 years.
AJ, as her business name became, met and worked with many wonderful people. Through her work she became a master agent, won 14 All American trips (awarded to the highest producing agents) and traveled all over the world with her company, the Mediterranean Cruise being the highlight of them all. She was inducted into the Farm Bureau Hall of Fame in 2000 and was a very successful agent for her company. AJ was on the Million Dollar Round Table, an achievement reached by only six percent of agents worldwide. She also had the honor of being a Blue Partner Agent for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota. Very few agents achieve this standing.
Audrejean taught religious training for Trinity Lutheran Church for many years. She touched many young lives, planting the seeds of faith, allowing them to know and grow in God's love. AJ enjoyed antiquing, woodcarving and sculpting, but her greatest joy was her delightful family.
She is survived by her husband, Ed; seven children: Suzanne (Karl) Solum, Keith (Rebecca) Myrah, Jean Berg (Randy Eis), (Jerry Berg), Jill Wall, Jane (David) Bjerke, Kristi (Phil) Griffin, and Matthew (Kathrine) Myrah; 29 grandchildren: Joseph (Faith), Seth, Jared, Ethan, Nathan, Brian (Michelle), Beth (Matthew), Jay, Tad, Leanna, Tate, Emily, Alexandra (Craig), Jordan, Ian, Jessica (Jason), Gabrielle, Jennifer, Tana, Christopher (Rachel), Nicholas (Jill), Joshua (Jamie), Jamie (Eric), Isaac, Caleb, Ezra, Stine, Maria and Jakob; 17 great-grandchildren; six siblings: Lorraine (Robert "Corky") Lager, Leighton (Joan) Kragness, Sonny Kragness/(Karen Kragness), Larry Johnson, Dean (Betty) Johnson and Cindy (Charlie) Huber; and many nieces and nephews.
AJ was preceded in death by her parents, sons-in-law, Donny Hanson and Karl Wall, great-grandchildren Clara Jane Bjerke and Nathaniel Solum, sister-in-law Carol Johnson and nephews Steven Kragness, Bob Lager and Jon Kragness.
