Decorah residents no longer need to continue running water to keep their pipes from freezing.
Decorah Water Superintedent Todd Ihde told the Decorah City Council Monday night that the last of water pipes frozen due to the deep frost level this winter had thawed out over the weekend.
Residents were asked to monitor the water temperatures in their homes and businesses due to the extreme cold this winter. If the water temperature was below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, there was a risk for frozen lines and the resident was asked to continually run a thin stream of water.
