Winneshiek Medical Center and Mayo Clinic Health System has named Lisa Radtke to the position of interim chief administrative officer, effective immediately.
Radtke is replacing Gretchen Dahlen who, last week, announced her resignation from her role as CAO.
Dahlen had served as CAO since June of 2012.
“We are excited to welcome Lisa Radtke to WMC,” said Rick Burras, WMC Board chair.
“Lisa will bring valuable health care experience to our management team as we move forward in our search to fill this position.”
Joe Kruse, CAO at Mayo Clinic Health System – Franciscan Healthcare in LaCrosse, Wis., which provides administrative services to WMC through a management-services agreement, added, “Lisa will provide superb leadership and stability during this time of transition. She brings solid business and administrative skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills. She will be a great fit for the Medical Center and the community.”
Radtke has served more than 30 years at Mayo Clinic Health System, serving 17 years as a behavioral health counselor and director and 17 years in human resources and organizational learning and development.
She currently serves in the role of regional administrator for human resources for the Southwest Wisconsin region.
She holds a Master’s of Science degree in Community Health and is a licensed social worker.
Her experience with WMC dates back to the early 2000s when she worked with a team on patient satisfaction and customer service. She recently was involved with Decorah human resources staff as the regional liaison as the organization worked on improving employee satisfaction, and has also provided support for the hospital’s process improvement initiatives.
“I have been very impressed with the dedication of the team and the quality of the work at WMC,” said Radtke.
“I really look forward to the opportunity to meet everyone and recognize I have a lot to learn, which I am eager to do. I also look forward to continuing to build on the processes and programs that are working well now, and to be of assistance during this bridge time as the right candidate is selected to guide the medical center into the future.”
A broad-based search will be initiated immediately with the expectation that the CAO position will be filled in four to six months.
