The Decorah Education Association (DEA) and the Decorah Community School District administration have reached a tentative master contract agreement for the 2014-2015 school year.
The agreement proposes a 4.1-percent increase in the salary/benefits package for next year.
In addition to the financial settlement, the groups agreed to some minor changes to contract language.
Superintendent Mike Haluska said the two sides met twice last week: first with a mediator and then on their own.
The action came following an initial master contract proposal by the DEA for a 5.49-percent total package increase, which included a $1,120 increase to the base salary. The District made a counter offer of 3.1-percent increase.
