Everyone has a story. Knowing and telling our stories helps us sort through the moments of our lives, identify the reality of our needs and our dreams, and (hopefully) evolve into who we are intended to be. And sometimes music can be the delivery system for those stories.

The Luther College Woman’s Club March program explores how music and story play important roles in our lives as Ellen Rockne presents “The Stories We Tell and the Songs We Sing,” Tuesday, Apr. 15, at 1:30 p.m., in Peace Dining Room of the Dahl Centennial Union.

Ellen Rockne is the co-founder of StoryPeople, She is an accomplished artist and singer with performance credits all over the U.S. – including playing the character of Cosette in Les Miserable. Her current pursuits are doing a lot of singing in the local community, especially singing for transitions like end of life. She is also working with the Community Rights organization, a growing movement of local communities taking back their own environments from corporate interests.
