Green Iowa AmeriCorps, operating out of the Winneshiek Energy District in Decorah, has organized activities for a community Bike to Work Week, now through May 17.
A community bikes pit stop, where bikers can stop and fill their tires and water bottles, is 9-11 a.m. Monday, May 12, and 2-3 p.m. Tuesday at the 200 block bikes racks on West Water Street.
A full moon night ride is 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, starting at the Trout Run Trail trailhead on West Main Street.
The theme for Thursday night’s trivia contest, which starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Courtyard and Cellar, is bikes.
Friday night features a “bike-in movie,” at the Courtyard and Cellar sponsored by the Decorah Hatchery and Decorah Bicycles. The movie “Ride the Divide” will be shown at 8 p.m.
Bikers who wear their helmet into more than 15 downtown businesses will receive special deals and giveaways.
