HSNEI’s 9th Annual Dog Walk and 5K is Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Decorah Trout Hatchery.

Early registration online before Sept. 10 is $15, while registration at the event is $20.

All registered receive a T-shirt.

The 5K is for humans with or without a dog and begins at 9 a.m., while the dog walk begins at 10 a.m. Participants are encouraged to gather pledges to benefit the HSNEI foster animals.

The top child and adult pledge earners win prizes, and most walkers and runners will leave with a door prize. Pledge forms and more information can be found at hsnei.org/2014-dog-walk-5k.

HSNEI is an non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in Northeast Iowa by rescuing, caring for and finding adoptive homes for unwanted pets, reducing the overpopulation of companion animals, fostering respect for animal life, encouraging volunteerism, and educating the community about responsible pet guardianship.
