The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will host an informational meeting concerning the presence of emerald ash borer (EAB) Wednesday, July 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Oaks Steakhouse in Decorah.
EAB is an exotic, destructive insect of ash trees, which is spreading in Iowa. This federally regulated insect has been found in four Iowa counties and has the potential to spread across the state.
Participants will learn how to identify EAB, the signs of an infestation, treatment options and the best replacement trees for ash.
The workshop is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.
