In the “49ers Band,” under the direction of Dr. John Callahan from the University of California, Long Beach, were Alissa Kozelka (bass clarinetist), Ashley Schwartzhoff  (alto saxophonist), Carl Iverson (trumpeter), and Emma Dambek (trombonist).
In the “Sycamore Band,” under the direction of Dr. Robey George from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, were Skye Kelley (flautist), Courtney Olson (oboist), Miles Wilkie (clarinetist), Tyler Lubke (trumpeter), and Will Yahr (French hornist).

There were over 600 high school band students from the tri-state area at the festival. In addition to the festival band performances, a solo competition was held.

Decorah’s Maleah Garwood, on euphonium, was one of four soloists selected for Honorable Mention.   Maleah is a senior and is the daughter of Deb and Mike Schacherer.
