Calmar hosting Trail Days this weekend

Calmar will host Calmar Trail Days Friday, June 21, through Sunday, June 23.
Events will kick off Friday, June 21s, in the Whiskey Grove parking lot with Security State Bank hosting "Cooking for a Cause" from 11 a.m to 1:30 pm. with proceeds going toward the South Winn football field/track project. From 8 p.m. to midnight, the Bruce Bearinger Band, sponsored by Whiskey Grove, will perform.
Saturday's events begin with NICC's Breakfast on the Farm from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the NICC Dairy Center, 1527 Highway 150 South, Calmar.
At 10 a.m., the Winneshiek County Historical Society will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a historical display of the railroads in Winneshiek County at the Depot.
Beginning at 11 a.m., the CFSR youth group will hold its first annual BAGS tournament, pre-registration starts at 10 a.m. The event is located between the Calmar Pool and the South Winneshiek softball field (NICC diamond). This will be best of three, double elimination. Cost is $20 per team or $10 for singles. Singles will be matched up during registration. Cash prizes will be awarded for first through third place. Also starting at 11 a.m., there will be free swimming at the Calmar Pool with organized kid's activities in the afternoon continuing with a late-night swim under the lights until 11 p.m. The Calmar Dance Team will have a food stand near the bags tournament and pool during the day.
There will also will be Little League tournaments at the NICC diamond by the swimming pool all day Saturday.

The Calmar Fireman's Dance will take place from 8 p.m. to midnight, featuring the band WAGG. Location is the Whiskey Grove parking lot. Cost is $6 in advance or $8 at the door. Throughout the evening, the Calmar Commercial Club will be serve brats and hot dogs.
Sunday begins with an ecumenical service at 9 a.m. at the Calmar Lutheran Church, featuring the Jim Busta Band.
The Calmar Lion's annual chicken drive-thru BBQ dinner at the Train Depot is from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Cost is $9 per person.
