Annual Relay for Life Saturday at Decorah High School

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is Saturday, June 7, beginning at 3 p.m. at Decorah High School.
Registration and tent set-up begins at 2 p.m., with the opening ceremony beginning at 3 p.m.
The opening ceremony includes the presentation of colors by VFW No. 1977 color guard, the National Anthem, welcome and introductions, acknowledgment of sponsors, survivor and caregiver lap, team introductions and the opening of the silent auction.
At 3:30 p.m. theme laps and entertainment begins.
There will also be a human scavenger hunt, dance laps, “Super Duper Twister Tournament” and a cake walk.
In addition, there will be Ole and Lena Olympics relay fun, lefse and lutefisk games, a “Build Ole’s House” competition, a limbo competition, limbo competition and underwear races.
At 7 p.m. there will be special recognition of Honorary Survivor Karen Foster.
At 8 p.m. there will be a sponsorship recognition and thank-you. The silent auction ends at 8:30 p.m.
At 9 p.m., there will be a luminaria ceremony with a lighting of luminarias, reading of the names and a committee lap.
Concessions will be offered by Culvers (by Team Culvers) and Lynch BBQ Company (by Team Latecomers).
