The Northeast Iowa Peace and Justice Center will host a community conservation on gun sense Friday, Sept. 5, at 9 a.m.
“Gun Sense Community Conversations” will host Sheriff Leon Bohr to discuss the legal and safety aspects of gun ownership and the importance of community relationships with law enforcement.
Gun Sense Community Conversations are sponsored by the NEIJPC and seek to educate the community on issues surrounding the legal and moral responsibilities of gun ownership, gun laws and gun violence.
“Gun Sense is a public health issue and all are invited to join the conversation,” said Erin Ryan of NEIJPC.
The next conversation is Thursday, Oct. 9.
Decorah Superintendent Mike Haluska will discuss safety and education in the schools.
