A Norwegian meatball dinner, and silent and live auction is Sunday, Nov. 4, from 4:30-7:30 p.m., at Calmar Lutheran Church.
Cost is $10 for adults and $6 for students. Children 5 and under are admitted free. Menu includes Norwegian meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, salad and dessert. The main course is catered by U2BBQ. Tickets may be purchased in advance by contacting Calmar Lutheran Church at 563-562-3633.
The event is a benefit for the family of Addyson (Zidlicky) Cordes, daughter of Nathan Cordes and Michelle Zidlicky.
Addyson was born Aug. 10, 2011; shortly after her first birthday, an atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor was discovered on her brain. The tumor was removed Sept. 21, 2012, and diagnosed as cancerous. Addyson will undergo chemotherapy and stem cell treatments, and potentially radiation. The cancer is malignant and fast-growing.
Proceeds of the benefit will help Addyson's family raise funds and offset expenses. Donations also may be made by contacting Calmar Lutheran Church at 563-562-3633.
