Monday, Dec. 16, will be a night to share in the joy of the music of the winter season as the Decorah High School Vocal Music Department presents its "Winter Choral Concert" at 7:30 p.m. in the DHS Auditorium.

The concert will begin with the Ninth Grade Bass Clef Choir singing Bach's duet "Der Herr Segne Euch" and an arrangement of "Noel Nouvelet" and "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen".

The Ninth Grade Treble Clef Choir will continue with a setting of "Jubilate Deo" by Bisbee and an arrangement of "Winter Wonderland". The Viking Chorus will sing a festive setting of the Latin text "Exsultate" by Tucker Courtney, Christiansen's "Lamb of God", Porter's "O Nata Lux", and Rutter's arrangement of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".

Next the Concert Choir men will sing "Who Are the Brave". The concert will conclude with the Concert Choir singing Victoria's "O Magnum Mysterium", "Machet die Tore Weit" by Hammerschmidt, "This Christmastide" by Fraser, "My God Is A Rock" arranged by Parker & Shaw, and Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus".

In addition, the DHS Madrigal Singers will perform carols in the auditorium beginning at 7:10 p.m.

Conductors for the concert will be Jason Rausch and Dean Beckman, and collaborative pianist is Mary Beth Bouska.
