Veterans should be aware of scams

For veterans who have only Veterans Administration healthcare there is a letter being sent out purportedly by the VA that says your VA healthcare doesn't qualify under Obamacare.
"This is a complete fraud," said Winneshiek County VA Administrator Faith Hlubek. "The phone number leads you to someone who will try to sell you insurance."
If you go to the VA you should have received a letter from the VA stating that VA healthcare is acceptable under Obamacare, she said.
Any veteran who gets a letter stating the VA healthcare is not accepted under Obamacare should contact the Iowa Attorney General's Office to report the fraud. A copy of the letter should also be sent to the county VA office.
Hlubek also is warning veterans of a VA home loan scan.
If veterans are contacted by 877-995-7652 by someone calling about their VA Home Loan they should not give out any personal information over the phone or a Social Security number. This recently happened to a veteran from another county who does not have a VA home loan.
