Local artisan Sharon Lillie is holding a trunk show featuring one-of-a-kind handmade purses, bags, evening bags, wine bags and more this Sunday, Nov. 17, at First Lutheran Church at 604 West Broadway.

The show is from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall on the lower level of the church.

"Sharon has generously decided to donate 25 percent of all proceeds of her purse sales to sponsor Project Care," Jenine Jordahl of First Lutheran Church said. "We are inspired by her creative efforts to support the local foster youth and are so grateful for Sharon and for this opportunity."

Project Care is a local group from First Lutheran Church of Decorah that helps equip apartments and dorm rooms with the basic essentials for local young people who are graduating from high school and also aging out of Iowa's foster care system.

"I have never been a part of a project that truly impacts and touches lives like Project Care does," said Project Care Chair Kirsten Heine. "I hope lots of people come and support these deserving young people by purchasing a bag -- or two."

Lillie also has bags at Rubyiat in Decorah.

"I want to thank Kim Carlson Bonnet for supporting our efforts, too," Lillie said.
