Winneshiek County will be restricting traffic on Bridge No. 65, over the Upper Iowa River, Monday, April 8, and Tuesday, April 9.
The bridge is located on Pole Line Road about 1.5 miles west of U.S. Highway 52. Workers will be doing exploratory work on and around the bridge in preparation for the bridge's replacement.
"Traffic will be reduced to one lane while work is ongoing and there will be flaggers," Winneshiek County Engineer Lee Bjerke said.
"Expect significant delays in the area. Alternate routes are strongly suggested."
Bjerke said he hopes the bridge replacement will take place during the summer of 2014 in conjunction with road resurfacing.
