Search warrants in Decorah, Dubuque lead to theft charges

Mark Schroeder of Decorah and Michael Feddersen of Dubuque were charged with second-degree theft after search warrants executed at their residences recently yielded stolen property.
The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department served a warrant at Schroeder's 2471 Dogwood Road, Decorah residence Aug. 27 and took a 2000 Ford Freestar van and other property stolen from a rural Decorah residence into evidence.
On Sept. 5, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department, with the assistance of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Iowa State Patrol, Manchester Police Department, Dubuque Police Department and the Winneshiek County Attorney's office served a search warrant at Feddersen's 1855 ½ Elm Street, Dubuque residence. Stolen property found there also was taken into custody.
Schroeder and Feddersen were taken into custody by Winneshiek County Sheriff's deputies Sept. 4. The investigation is continuing and more information is expected to be released.
