The American Cancer Society Relay For Life® of Winneshiek County will officially get under way Monday, March 4, with a kickoff celebration in the Bank of the West lobby in downtown Decorah from 4-6 p.m.
The Relay For Life Kickoff Celebration is an opportunity for past and potential team captains to learn about Relay, pick up 2013 materials and register their teams.
Teams can save $25 on their team registration fee by registering online prior to or at the kickoff celebration, reducing the team registration from $100 to $75. The celebration also will feature several Relay informational tables.
Attendees will receive a punch card, and when the card is completed by visiting each information table, it will be entered into a drawing for one lucky team to have their team registration fee waived.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life® of Winneshiek County is Saturday, June 8, at the Decorah High School track.
Opening ceremonies are at 3 p.m.; honorary speakers will share at 7 p.m.; and the Luminaria Ceremony is at 9 p.m., with the Fight Back Ceremony directly following.
Relay For Life is a community celebration where individuals and teams take turns walking around a track relay style to raise funds, while celebrating the lives of those who have had cancer, remembering those lost and fighting back against this disease.
