Waukon Harley-Davidson is hosting a motorcycle ride Saturday, October 8, 2011 to benefit the Northeast Iowa family chosen by Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

The ride will depart late morning from Waukon Harley-Davidson Oct. 8. The ride will end at the

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition construction site. Once there, there will be an opportunity for riders to parade their bikes by the construction site.

The Waterloo Courier reported Thursday a family in Fayette County was selected to receive a new home, but the exact town and family details will remain a secret until Sunday, Oct. 2, when Extreme Makeover's Ty Pennington show up on the selected family's doorstep.

Pre-registration for the motorcycle ride is $20 per person and includes a T-shirt. Call Kerri Mahr at (563) 568-3471 by Saturday, Oct. 1, to register. All proceeds will benefit the Northeast Iowa family chosen by Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

"Our entire staff is excited to host the ride. It's a great cause and we hope to have several hundred riders out to support the family," said Harley Davidson co-owner Irv Fosaaen.

The home will be revealed to the family Sunday, Oct. 9, with the show to be aired sometime later this year.

Larson Construction Co. Inc., of Independence, is the builder for the project. Shawver Well Company Inc. of Fredericksburg is donating labor and materials to drill a new well for the family and Pizza Ranch of Decorah is donating pizzas during the new home construction Monday.

The Emmy award winning reality program Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, is in its 9th season and airs Sundays from 7 to 8 p.m. Central Standard Time on ABC.
