After eight years of service to RSVP, Decorah's Lyle Otte is retiring.
Otte has served at the volunteer coordinator for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program since 2008.
In a recent RSVP newsletter, Otte stated that he wanted to thank the volunteers and station supervisors for all the wonderful cooperation and willingness to help him serve as the volunteer coordinator.
"It has been my good fortune to have been working with such a friendly, hardworking, committed group of people. It is people like you who do the community volunteering work that makes Northeast Iowa such a great place to live," said Otte.
RSVP Director Kathy Barloon expressed her appreciation of the great job that Otte has done in helping match volunteers to the needs of Northeast Iowa.
"Since beginning his position, he has worked with great enthusiasm and respect for the 464 volunteers who have given 152,962 hours of their time to help make Northeast Iowa a great place to live. We will miss his friendly smile and positive outlook that has welcomed volunteers during the past eight years," said Barloon.
Barloon invites the public to a retirement open house Thursday, Dec. 13, from 1-3 p.m. in the lower level of the Decorah Library.
