The Decorah City Council is optimistic about the Decorah Vikings' chances in the Iowa High School Athletic Association football playoffs.

The Vikings, currently on a 22-game winning streak, have their first playoff game Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. at Viking Stadium. If they win, they'll play again in Decorah, Monday night, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m.

The Council's next regular meeting is Nov. 4. Meetings normally begin at 7:30 p.m., but due to the game, Council member Randy Schissel asked the rest of the Council to consider moving the start of the meeting to 5:30 p.m.

"We could probably be hosting a home football game that night starting at 7 p.m.," Schissel said.

The Council unanimously agreed to the earlier time.
