Marshall Nessa, a West Union resident, has announced he is seeking the Republican nomination for the Iowa House in District 55.

Nessa attended Northwest Iowa Technical College in Sheldon, Northwestern College in Roseville, Minn., and Association of Free Lutheran Theological Seminary in Plymouth, Minn., graduating with degrees in business administration and Graduate of Theology.

Nessa was a partner in "Nessa Brothers," a custom meat-processing plant in his hometown of Garden City. He taught and coached at JMS, a private school in central Pennsylvania. If elected, he will uphold the ideal of a limited, responsible government that encourages personal liberties as well as personal responsibilities, he said.
