Activities are planned for another Bike 2 Work Week in Decorah, Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17.

The community is invited to join in the effort to reduce car traffic, carbon emissions and promote a healthy lifestyle. Participating businesses will offer "freebies" and discounts for bike riders, who only need to show their bike helmets.

Tuesday, May 14, at 6:30 p.m. is a "Eco Bike Tour of Decorah," an educational riding tour focusing on the natural areas and sustainable living the community. The eco bike tour is 5.5 miles and begins outside Vanberia on Water Street.

A "Bike-in" movie night is offered Wednesday, May 15, at 8:30 p.m. at Pulpit Rock Park with a screening of "Pedal to the Midnight Sun."

If just 20 people committed to biking two days out of the week, 198 pounds of CO2 would be diminished at a savings of $40. (Based on approximate $3.72 per gallon, five miles round trip driving at 20 miles average per gallon).
