Scott Engelhardt has been appointed to the Ridgeway City Council.
The Council unanimously voted in favor of the appointment during its meeting last week. He will fill the position vacated by Paul Stevens, who was appointed the new mayor of Ridgeway last month. Former Mayor Dave Brenno had to vacate his position after he moved to Cresco.
In other business, the Council approved having K&W Coatings of Elkader make repairs to the city water tower at a maximum cost of $7,925. Work will include fixing the well gaps between the roof and tank wall and replacing the fasteners that need repair.
