Decorah's Gail Howatt helping with Hurricane Sandy aftermath

American Red Cross volunteer Gail Howatt of Decorah is being deployed to help victims of Hurrican Sandy.
She is heading to New Brunswick, NJ to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Since becoming a Tri-County Red Cross volunteer six years ago, Howatt, a registered nurse who works at the Cresco Medical Clinic, has been deployed five or six times.
Howatt said while she never knows what exactly she will be doing until she gets there, she will be working in some sort of health service capacity, in a shelter, first aid station, or possibly doing in-home visits.

The American Red Cross is always looking for donations and volunteers.
To donate, visit www.redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
The American Red Cross Tri-County Unit will host a volunteer information session Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The session will take place at the American Red Cross Tri-County Unit office in Hawkeye Plaza, 1111 Paine St., Suite E, Decorah.
