A Decorah man was transferred to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester Saturday after he was involved in a snowmobile accident Saturday night in Bloomfield Township.

Jacob D. Ludeking was operating his snowmobile four miles east of Ossian near the Centennial Road at about 10:15 p.m. when the snowmobile struck a hard packed snowdrift causing the machine to overturn and throwing Ludeking off. Ludeking was then struck by the snowmobile. He was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center by Winneshiek County ambulance and later transferred to St. Mary's.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Winneshiek County Ambulance and Winneshiek Trail Twisters Club members at the scene. Ludeking was listed in fair condition Monday.
