The Decorah School Board approved a number of District salaries at a special meeting Thursday afternoon.

The total package increase for administrative contract staff was 3.63 percent, with the Central Office staff receiving 3.66 percent.

Other staff received a 3.65-percent increase, with the exception of Director of Food Services Jane Bullerman. According to Superintendent Mike Haluska, Bullerman received a more significant increase (16.8 percent) in order to make her pay closer to similar positions in area schools.

Administrative staff received the following raises, in addition to full health insurance, FICA, IPERS, LTD and life insurance: Superintendent Mike Haluska, $5,100 (from $143,150 to $148,250); High School Principal Kim Sheppard, $3,700 ($102,210 to $105,910); Elementary Principal Rick Varney, $3,200 (from $85,910 to $89,110); Middle School Principal Leona Hoth, $3,100 (from $83,475 to $86,575); Assistant High School/Athletic Director Adam Riley, $2,800 ($75,000 to $77,800); Carrie Lee Principal Cheryl Miller, $2,700 ($71,000 to $73,700) and District Technology Coordinator Kurt DeVore, $2,600 (from $69,556 to $72,156).

Haluska said the remainder of the classified (non-teaching staff) received an overall package increase of 4 percent.
