The Decorah High School Band Department will present its final spring concert Thursday, April 25, starting at 7:30 in the high school auditorium.
The DHS Symphonic Band, under the direction of Matt Cody, will perform: "March of the Belgian Parachutists" by Peter Leemans/Bourgeois, "Elegy" by John Morrissey, "Night Dances for Wind Ensemble" by Bruce Yurko and "Simple Gifts: Four Shaker Songs for Concert Band" arranged by Frank Ticheli.
The DHS Wind Ensemble, under the direction of James Fritz, will perform: "Fanfare Nueve" by John Fannin, "Irish Tune From County Derry" by Percy Aldridge Grainger, "Four Scottish Dances" by Malcolm Arnold/Paynter and "Por Ahi Maria Se Va: a Dominican Meringue" by Dr. Juan Tony Guzman (originally premeired by the DHS Wind Ensemble in 1991).
This is the final home concert for the 2013 seniors and awards will be presented. The concert is open and free to the public.
