Winneshiek County's budget hearing is tentatively set for Monday, March 10, at noon in the Winneshiek County Courthouse.

The Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors is wrapping up most of its budget considerations, but property tax rates for residents of rural areas and incorporated areas have not yet been set because the Board is waiting for numbers on two significant budget figures, according to Winneshiek County Auditor Ben Steines.

The Board is still determining how to handle employee wages and is waiting to receive insurance renewal numbers from the county's health insurance provider. Until those items are addressed, county officials are in "standby mode."
