The driver of a Bruening Rock Products truck received minor injuries after his dump truck rolled into the river Monday afternoon.

According to the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department, Michael Quick, 29, Calmar lost control while driving on the River Road near the Upper Dam. The truck rolled down a steep embankment, coming to rest on its side in the river.

Quick was able to free himself from the wreckage. He was transported by ambulance to Winneshiek Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. Quick was charged with failure to maintain control.

The dump truck was totaled. Bruening employees were able to remove the wreckage from the river using a large excavator.
