Three counts of attempted murder have been filed against Dan Wildman of Cresco.
The 23-year-old is accused of a drive-by shooting in Calmar that occurred next to the Calmar Police Station and a block from the South Winneshiek High School at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. The incident caused a lockdown of schools in Calmar and Ossian for most of the day as area law enforcement agencies searched for Wildman.
He was apprehended Tuesday afternoon in a corn field a few miles east of Ossian where he had fled on an all terrain vehicle. Wildman was taken to the Winneshiek County Jail and held on three arrest warrants from Howard County for possession of a firearm as a felon, delivery of a controlled substance and a probation violation.
The attempted murder charges were filed in Winneshiek County District Court Thursday afternoon. In addition, Wildman was charged with one count of intimidation using a dangerous weapon and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
