'Shakespeare in Song & Sound' Nov. 2

Water Street Music Series and ArtHaus combine forces to host "Shakespeare in Song and Sound," Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the Decorah Congregational United Church of Christ at 209 W Broadway Street.
The performance is an original collaboration between composer Brooke Joyce, harpsichordist Kathy Reed, Renaissance scholar Kate Narveson, theatre director Kristen Underwood and their student musicians, composers, and performers. Together they interweave music-related scene excerpts and sonnets by William Shakespeare to create on a sonorous adventure to Elizabethan England and back again as traditional tunes are juxtaposed against the fresh ink of Dr. Joyce's composition students.
