Join Luther College on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the Haiti earthquake to celebrate the legacy of Luther alumnus Ben Splichal Larson and the faith, spirit and hope of the people of Haiti.
Luther's Office for College Ministries is hosting "Lespwa fè nou viv," a benefit concert, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus.

Tickets are $10 and available through the Luther Ticket Office by calling 563-387-1357, online at tickets.luther.edu or by visiting the Ticket Office, open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9-10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; Tuesday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with extended hours on Thursday 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. Admission is free with valid student ID.
A freewill offering will be taken and all proceeds from the concert will benefit ministries and partnerships in Haiti including St. Joseph's Home for Boys, the Community Health Initiative in Haiti and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Haiti.
"Lespwa fè nou viv," or "Hope Makes Us Live," is a benefit concert to celebrate the legacy of Larson, who was one of the many casualties of the Jan. 12, 2010 Haiti earthquake.
The concert features music by Peter Mayer of the Peter Mayer Band and Hans Peterson of Dakota Road Music. It also includes offerings on Haitian culture, drumming, dance and art by Bill Nathan and Walnes Cangas from St. Joseph's Home for Boys in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Kent Annan, author of "After Shock" and "Following Jesus through the Eye of the Needle" will speak in chapel at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10. Nathan and Cangas from St. Joseph's Home for Boys will share Haitian music and culture in chapel Jan. 10 as well.
Annan will sign his books at the Luther Book Shop from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10. He will also host a lecture/discussion on his work in Haiti at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in the Center for Faith and Life Recital Hall, which will be followed by a book signing.
