Parents, alumni and members of the community are invited to the South Winneshiek High School Homecoming coronation ceremony, which will take place in the high school gym Friday, Sept. 14, 1:25-2:00 p.m.
This year's queen candidates are Katelyn Elsbernd, daughter of Dean and Julie Elsbernd; Morgan Kuennen, daughter of Mark and Linda Kuennen; Jessica Lensing, daughter of Ernie and Sherri Lensing; and Jennifer Panos, daughter of Stephen and Beverly Panos. King candidates are Eric Albertson, son of Duane and Beth Albertson; Colton Hageman, son of Tim and Lori Hageman; Dakota Hageman, son of Roy and Patty Hageman; and Isaac Taylor, son of David and Donna Taylor.
The 2012 homecoming king and queen will be crowned at the coronation ceremony by Samantha Shindelar and Austin Ashbacher, South Winneshiek's 2011 queen and king.
The student council, which is in charge of the coronation and parade, selected the theme "South Winn's Greatest Hits" for the parade floats.
The homecoming parade will begin at 2:45 p.m. at the west side of the high school and will go north two blocks to Klimesh Ford.
The South Winneshiek Warrior Varsity Football team will play against the Denver Cyclones with kick-off starting at 7:30 p.m.
The Homecoming dance will be Saturday, Sept. 15, 8-11 p.m. in the high school gym.
