Two local inventors could get the chance to share their creations on a late night talk show.
The parents of St. Benedict's Gavin Thorson and North Winneshiek's Maria Hendrickson recently gave permission for the staff at Invent Iowa to submit videos of the students' inventions to the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show to be considered for a segment called "Kids with Inventions."
Thorson, the son of Ben and Laura Thorson of Mabel, Minn., invented the BG Scooper, a modified scoop shovel, and Hendrickson, the daughter of Karl Hendrickson and Julie Strom of Decorah, invented "Ho-o-ld Your Horses," reins to make it easier for persons lacking hand strength to hold onto a horse's bridle.
Both were regional finalists for the Belin-Blank Center's Invent Iowa competition and advanced to the state-level competition.
