The Decorah Education Association (DEA) and the Decorah Community School District administration have reached a tentative agreement for the 2013-2014 school year.
The agreement calls for a 4.1-percent increase, which includes salary, health care, IPERS and SSI. In addition to the financial settlement, the groups agreed upon some changes to contract language issues.
The DEA originally requested a 5.25-percent increase, which was met with a counter offer of 3.25 percent.
"The District administration and the DEA were pleased with the collaborative nature of our talks this year and look forward to continued conversations in the future," said Decorah Superintendent Mike Haluska.
