World affairs discussion group will meet in March at library
Tuesday, January 28, 2014 2:50 AM
Join co-facilitators Craig Mosher and Jim Dale for an eight-week reading and discussion series focused on current world affairs.
The group meets on the second floor of Decorah Public Library Mondays from 4-5:30 p.m., March 10-April 28.
The group text is the Great Decisions briefing book -- published annually by the Foreign Policy Association -- which highlights eight of the most thought-provoking foreign policy challenges facing Americans today.
The book provides background information, current data and policy options for each issue. Topics for 2014 include defense policy; Israel and the U.S.; Turkey's Challenges; Islamic awakening; energy independence; food and climate; China's foreign policy; and U.S. trade policy.
More information about each topic can be found on the library's website at decorah.lib.ia.us .
Anyone interested in participating in the group should stop by the front desk of the library to register. Great Decisions briefing books are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for $20.
Visit the Great Decisions website at fpa.org or call the library at 382-3717 for more information.
