The fourth annual Kiss A Pig contest ceremony is 4 p.m. Thursday, May 8.
It begins at 4 p.m. in the KVIK-FM station parking lot, 501 W. Water St, Decorah. It is sponsored by the American Cancer Society Relay for Life team Latecomers and Lynch Companies of Waucoma.
Eight contestants have pledged to kiss a pig Thursday. They are Josh Blake of KNEI-FM Radio; Don Koshatka, Clet Koshatka Farm Equipment; Todd Ridout, NICC; Chris Redenius, Bodensteiner Implement; Chris Lynch, Lynch Livestock Inc.; Dave Mitchell, Luther College head wrestling coach; Andy Bonnett, owner of Rubaiyat restaurant; and Perry Laures, Vern Laures Auto.
Voting is taking place through Thursday for the contestant who will receive a trophy and have the choice to kiss the pig, “or not.”
Every $1 donated to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Winneshiek and Chickasaw counties equals one vote.
There are three ways to vote: containers are located at the contestants place of business and at KVIK radio station; mail donation to Lynch Livestock, Inc., Attn. Norma Hackman, 331 3rd St. NW, Waucoma, IA 52171 (mark on the envelope who you are voting for and make checks payable to American Cancer Society); visit relayforlife.org/Winneshiekcountyia, or relayforlife.org/chickasawcountyia to make a credit card donation by selecting “donate,” then “donate to team,” entering the team name “Latecomers” and clicking “donate.” (Indicate who you are voting for in the comment section.)
