Upper Iowa University (Established in 1857) MASTER OF EDUCATION PROGRAM CHAIR (Des Moines, Waterloo, Quad Cities or Fayette) This is a 12 month, full-time tenure-track faculty position with release time for administration of the Master of Education graduate program. The minimum academic rank is assistant professor. The Master of Education (M.Ed.) program chair reports to the Dean of the Andres School of Education.
Key Job Elements: • Teaching  • Advising • Scheduling courses across modalities/locations with assistance from Teacher Education Coordinators and a Higher Education emphasis faculty member • Working with full-time faculty members who teach M.Ed. courses and hiring adjunct faculty members as needed • Overseeing the quality of the program • Expanding additional course work to online • With the Office of Communications and Marketing, marketing the program • Collaborating with other graduate and undergraduate program chairs • Possessing excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and strong computer literacy skills • Possessing superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills.
Requirements: Earned master’s degree in education from a regionally accredited university (doctorate preferred, or willingness to earn a doctorate exhibited), practitioner experience in the field of PK-12 education, college level teaching experience—preferably in both classroom and online. Administrative experience a plus.
