Lillian Goldman Visitors Center Supervisor
Seed Savers Exchange seeks an individual for a full time position working in our Education and Outreach Department.  The Lillian Goldman Visitors Center (LGVC) Supervisor will:  oversee the LGVC which is engaged in educating our customers about gardening and seed saving; assist customers with purchasing specific, related or general lines of merchandise related to SSE mission; answer questions in regard to Seed Savers Exchange, Inc origin and its future mission; work with a LGVC team that offers excellent customer service and supports each other in the day to day tasks.  Weekend work required.  For the months of January and February work week will be Monday through Friday.  For the remainder of the year, work week will normally be Tuesday through Saturday.  
Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree preferred in biology or horticulture; business/retail skills preferred; gardening knowledge and skills essential; must have proficient computer skills;  this candidate must be friendly, patient, creative, detail-oriented, and have the ability to work effectively in a fast pace environment; able to tend to garden duties that will involve lifting (up to 25lbs), bending, stretching, kneeling, and walking.

Crew Leader/Seed Technician
Seed Savers Exchange seeks an individual for a full time position working in our Seed House Department.  This is a leadership position encompassing all aspects of seed production, packing, and order fulfillment.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  assist Field Manager in performing all garden activities including garden preparation, seeding, transplanting, watering, weeding, mulching, staking, fencing, harvesting, and garden clean up; primary person to assist Seed House Manager with coordinating potato, plant, and garlic activities; lead a team of field crew members daily during the growing season to carry out garden installation and maintenance; maintain accurate records of seed production, processing, packaging, and shipping; hire and train seasonal and permanent staff as needed; monitor, schedule, and perform seed processing activities including drying, cleaning, and conditioning; assist with bulk and/or retail packet filling as needed; assemble orders and prepare for shipment.  May also involve understanding of shipping software and operation of shipping computer.
Qualifications:  Ag/horticulture experience with proven leadership abilities required.  Experience with organic vegetable crop seed production preferred.  All applicants must possess a valid driver's license; have the ability to communicate effectively; work in a fast paced environment; work independently and as part of a team; operate small farm equipment including tractors, pickups, wagons; lift 30 lbs. routinely, 50 lbs. occasionally.

As a result of this growth, we are pleased to offer the following positions:
SENIOR LEAD FOREMAN/SUPERINTENDENT
Must possess minimum of 7 years field experience and at least 3 years in a supervisory role as crew foreman; have the ability to read and interpret plans and specs; and experience in electrical installation and design on all levels from residential to heavy industrial. Knowledge of motor control, VFD, electrical distribution, automation and NEC is expected. Good communication skills and computer literacy. Experience in PLC, fire and security cameras is a plus. Clean driving record with valid driver’s license. We offer Medical, Dental, Holiday, Vacation and matching IRA. Excellent comp package based upon knowledge and experience $24-$28/hr. /$55,000 - $65,000 annual. Must expect overtime, no overnights. Iowa electrical license Journeyman or Master is required.
JOURNEYMAN
Must have completed an apprenticeship program, have previous work experience with another electrical contractor, or been self employed in the electrical industry. Basic  field knowledge in commercial and industrial settings, safety oriented with the ability to work with others. Knowledge of NEC and experience in all levels of installation is expected. We offer Medical, Dental, Holiday, Vacation and matching IRA. Excellent comp package based upon knowledge and experience $20-$24/hr. /$45,000 - $55,000 annual. Must expect overtime, no overnights. Iowa electrical Journeyman license required.
APPRENTICE
Individual must have High School Diploma or GED, basic mechanical skills, willing to work in all types of adverse conditions, willing to climb up to 100’-150’, interest in the electrical field with willingness and ability to perform physical work on a daily basis. Comp package includes Medical, Dental, Holiday $12-$14/hr. DOE. Must expect overtime.
