There are simply no words to express my heartfelt thanks for the sympathy you all have extended toward our family during the time of loss.
Special thanks to the ambulance, the Decorah, Postville Police Depts. for the assistance you provided to us. The Decorah Medical Center. Thanks to Pastor Chad and Karen at Schluter Balik Funeral Home. We are forever grateful. The loving support of family and friends was absolutely invaluable. Most sincere thanks for the flowers, cards and other gifts sent in memory of Melody A. We greatly appreciated the food you brought by it was delicious. For thinking of us at that very difficult time. For the loving memories you have shared with us, we'll treasure them for a lifetime. Thank you to the Decorah Community Businesses, Hawc Partnership for Children, Helping Services, Ortivus and Don Jose Restaurant, for your donations and the Latino community as well.
Thank you to all that took time off work to come to our daughter's funeral. Particularly that there were so many that I'd never met in person before. Hugs were very comforting. We are deeply grateful to the Decorah Community School's teachers for helping our daughter learn in so many ways. Her hairdressers for making her look and feel beautiful everytime she needed it. And never the less Melody's best friends. She treasured your friendship. You all shared love and respect. Your presence and willingness to help with anything needed was great comfort.
Difficult times like these remind us how blessed we are to have family, friends and community like you. Thanks for your prayers and support from Iowa to California, to Oregon to Scotland to Spain to Texas. We wouldn't be able to make it without the love and support.
Melody Simmonds has been missed by so many. And we will continue to miss her for the rest of lives.
