Thunder Rode, a therapeutic horsemanship program for individuals with special needs, is hosting a benefit dance and silent auction Saturday, Aug. 23, from 7 – 11 p.m. at Nob Hill, north of Decorah.

The dance will feature the Swamp Cats, playing “good old rock and roll with a pinch of country and a side of blues.”

Silent auction items include a fishing trip by Fox Rods of Harpers Ferry an afternoon trail ride, karaoke machine, an Iowa Hawkeye wall plaque from Fidelity Bank, cupcakes from Pinters, western décor and many other fun items.

Thunder Rode serves residents from Allamakee, Howard and Winneshiek counties. The current service offerings are sports therapy, Iowa Thunder Empowerment and Tri-state Thunder Vets – service for veterans.  Proceeds from the dance will be used to enable Thunder Rode to assist all who can benefit from the program, whether or not they can afford services.
