The Grand winner of the Old Creamery Theatre's 2014 writing contest is fifth grader Steven Sexton, from North Winneshiek High School, for his piece, "The New Duck."
Two first prize winners also are from Winneshiek county.
Cady Peterson, a fifth grader at Decorah Middle School, won for "The Pilot."
"Birch and Maple" was written by Robyn Dayton and Ruby Sullivan, fourth graders at Carrie Lee Elementary School.
Among second prize winners were "The Three Billy Goats Sampson," by Maria Hendrickson, a fifth grader at North Winneshiek School; and "The Cookie Buddies," by Noah Lovelace, a fifth grader at Decorah Middle School.
Third prize winners are "Bob," by Rebecca Anderson, a third grader at Carrie Lee Elementary, Decorah; "The 'Pig-tastic' Adventures of Porkchop and Bacon," by Tyler Bullerman, a fourth grader at North Winneshiek School; "Dragon Bully," by Larsson Shockey, Emmit Stemper and Adrian Huang, fourh graders at Carrie Lee Elementary; and "Lunch Ladies," by Emily Carolan, a fourth grader at North Winneshiek School.
The Old Creamery Theatre is the oldest professional theatre company in Iowa, boasting over 40 years of producing high-quality entertainment.
