Namoli Brennet performs at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at ArtHaus in downtown Decorah.
Brennet has spent the last year touring the country and recording shows to release her eagerly anticipated second live CD, Namoli Brennet Live. The compilation includes a recording from the KPVL 89.1 studio.
Early reviews are calling the album "beautiful" and "arresting." Saturday's show will bring Namoli to the stage in an intimate Decorah setting that she's called "one of her favorite venues." This year's performance will include a few local special guests.
Doors open at 7:30. Show begins at 8. General admission tickets are $8 in advance at the Oneota Community Co-op and $10 at the door. A limited number of reserved tickets are available for $15 by contacting Amalia Vagts (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The show is sponsored by Welcome in Decorah, an online resource for all wedding couples and for LGBT visitors to the Decorah area. Brennet's visit coincides with National Coming Out Day, a day set aside to honor the personal journeys of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender day and their experiences of sharing these journeys by "coming out" to others.
